Betting during Waregem Koerse
During Waregem Koerse, you can traditionally bet in three ways.
If you are over 18, you can place a bet with the bookmakers (colloquially “at the board”), at the electronic betting counters (PMH/pari-mutuel) on the hippodrome, or online via your smartphone through the Bingoal website.
Bookmakers
With bookmakers, you bet at a fixed odds. The odds shown on your ticket no longer change, so you know exactly in advance what the possible payout will be if your bet wins.
Electronic betting (PMH)
With electronic betting, all stakes are pooled together and then divided among the winners. This means it isn’t possible to know exactly in advance what the payout will be.
However, ongoing indications of the current odds are provided. The closer it gets to the start of the race, the more accurate these become.
On the screens, you can see per horse what the possible payout is for a €1 stake on “win”. Multiply this amount by your stake to estimate your possible winnings.
To keep things exciting, PMH offers several different bet types to choose from.
Online betting
Bingoal and horse racing are closely linked. Through online betting, you experience Waregem Koerse from the front row, quickly and easily via your smartphone.

EPIS legislation
As of this year, the new EPIS legislation applies, aimed at combating gambling addiction — an initiative we naturally support. As a result, a one-time check will take place at the counters via Itsme or via your identity card. Please be sure to bring your identity card if you do not have an Itsme account.
Anyone who wants everything to run as smoothly as possible on the day itself can also bet online. In that case, verification happens automatically via itsme®. You can easily register online in advance via this link:
5 EPIS counters will be provided:
- 4 at the Weighing area:
- At the entrance;
- under the Hippologgia canopy;
- next to the staff entrance;
- next to the large betting counter by the public tent.
- 1 on the Central square, next to the betting counters.
Opening hours & flow
- 11:00 AM: opening of the EPIS counters.
- 12:00 PM: opening of the other counters.
Verification takes place via identity card or via Itsme, per counter.
Types of bets on the hippodrome
Win
Choose one or more horses that you think will win the race. Minimum stake: €5 per horse.
Place (2nd)
Choose one or more horses that you think will finish second. Minimum stake: €5 per horse.
Place (top 3)
Choose horses that will finish in the top 3. Minimum stake: €5 per horse. With 7 or fewer horses, a top 2 result applies.
Exacta (win)
Choose at least two horses that will finish first and second. Minimum stake: €2 per combination. With 7 or fewer horses, the order must be correct.
