Experience Waregem Koerse safely

On Tuesday 1 September 2026, we will once again celebrate Waregem Koerse together at the Waregem racecourse. The often pleasant weather and the large number of visitors make each edition — and certainly this special day — a truly great horse racing event.

Together with several partners, such as public authorities, the police, the fire brigade and a security company, we strive to ensure the safety of all attendees as effectively as possible. Various organisational and technical measures have been developed for this purpose, which have already proven successful in previous editions and will be implemented again this year. All volunteer staff are also involved in these safety measures on the day of Waregem Koerse.

At the public entrances, you may be asked to briefly show the contents of your bags. From experience, we know this is always done professionally and respectfully. We recommend not bringing backpacks to the event, as they may be restricted or subject to inspection for security reasons when entering the racecourse.

The organisation sincerely hopes that an evacuation will not be necessary during this wonderful event. However, should such a situation arise, we are fully prepared to ensure it is carried out in a structured and efficient manner.

In case of a possible evacuation, we kindly ask you to:

• follow the clearly indicated evacuation signs;
• use the exits that will be displayed on the screens throughout the racecourse;
• remain calm and act in a disciplined manner;
• strictly follow the instructions of stewards and security staff;
• not return to the racecourse after evacuation without explicit permission.

By cooperating with these measures, you actively contribute to our safety approach. We strongly hope — and are confident — that these precautions will not be needed, and that we can all enjoy a safe and successful edition of Waregem Koerse together.
